Bio
RIA CURLEY hails from Central New York, the oldest of six siblings in an artistic and musical family. She began writing songs at age 12 and gave her first public performance at 15, launching a lifelong path as a songwriter, vocalist, and composer.
Her original music blends jazz-influenced R&B/pop with a retro sensibility, often described as a “retro-hip mix of poignant, melodic rock and sultry, romantic R&B.” Across her career, Ria has remained focused on crafting original songs that highlight lyrical depth, melodic strength, and emotional connection.
Twenty-two of her original songs are published by Warner Chappell Music, and her album Take Me has received critical acclaim along with radio airplay across major stations in New York and beyond.
Her single “Wanna Be There” was nominated for Record of the Year at the regional Eddies Music Awards, and her song “Divine” is currently in rotation on WEXT Radio, receiving ongoing airplay from multiple DJs.
Ria often collaborates on original music with her music and life partner, pianist/composer Chuck Lamb. Together, Ria and Chuck have obtained a number of sync placements in film and television, including a placement in Everything Must Go on HBO Max, starring Emmy-nominated Hannah Einbinder (co-star of Emmy-nominated “Hacks”).
Ria is excited to be in the studio, recording a new EP of original material to be released this year.
